Sing & Play with Newton Folk Music
About
Join Newton Folk Music to sing and play a wide range of folk music, from traditional to contemporary, in a low-key, warm, and friendly environment. Singers and instrumentalists of all levels are welcome. The organizers lead a few songs and invite requests from participants. If you'd like to lead a song yourself, you're welcome to do so, and the organizers are here to help. Lyrics and chords are projected on a screen at the front of the room. Printed songbooks with selected favorites are available, or you can bring a tablet to reference an electronic version of the songbook . Want to get a sense of the range of songs Newton Folk Music sings? Check out the song list from past sessions . If you have any questions, please reach out to the organizers at events@newtonfolk.org . This program is geared towards adults, but all ages are welcome. Children 9 years old and younger must be accompanied and supervised by their caregiver at all times. Registration is encouraged to help us know how best to set up the room—plus you’ll get a reminder for the event if you sign up. Walk-ins are also welcome.
