[PTO Parent Education Presents]The Art of Boredom for Kids

Monday, November 2 · 7 PM – 8:30 PM · Community Room, Weston Public Library, 87 School Street, Weston, MA, 02493

About

Boredom is a lost art form. With access to constant screens, information, and stimulation, modern day kids can sometimes view the simplicity of calm reflection, independent play, or the act of being patient with a sense of confusion, resistance, and distress. However, personal ingenuity, resilience, and patience have all been linked to greater success outcomes for kids, as well as improved mental health and positive outlook. So how do we teach our kids to be bored, and to be okay with being bored? Join Stacie Bancroft, PhD, who will share the latest academic research around the topic as well as practice advice for parents and caregivers. This discussion is brought to you by the PTO Parent Education Committee.
