La nuit au musée: A Sip of the Roaring 20's - 6pm
About
6pm-11pm | Thursday, November 5 1345 Bush Street, San Francisco, CA 94109 For one night, the Francophone Museum of San Francisco transforms into a 1920s speakeasy. Step back into les années folles and into an evening of live music, dancing, and Jazz Age glamour. When Prohibition threatened to dry out California, French winemakers and traditions helped keep the state's wine alive, one more thread tying France and California together. Tonight we explore that history, with Prohibition-era cocktails and wines to sip and a Francophone buffet to savor. Come dressed in your finest flapper party attire for a night of casino games, a short talk on Prohibition in the Bay Area from historian Rebecca Yerger, and two live sets of jazz from Charles Unger Experience and La Gauloise All Stars. Our Charleston swing lesson will have you out on the dance floor in no time. Tickets: $60 general, $50 for AFSF members, in advance only. $80 at the door. Ticket holders will receive a secret password and instructions for entry. Grab your ticket, don your flapper best, and we'll see you on the other side of the door.
