Celebrate the glow of lanterns, the taste of mooncakes, cultural activities, and the joy of community at the Mid-Autumn Festival! Presented with the Greater Los Altos Chinese Association (GLACA), this family-friendly event invites all ages to experience one of China’s most cherished traditions—second only to Lunar New Year. About the Program The Mid-Autumn Festival, observed for more than 3,000 years, is rooted in harvest traditions and the legend of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess. Today it symbolizes family reunion, gratitude, and hope for health and happiness. Activities include: Face painting and lantern riddle guessing for the kids Flying sword, arrow throwing, archery, bean bag tossing, rope jumping, and shuttlecock kicking challenges for teens Windmill-making and candy painting for families—plus a 3D sugar art printer to bring designs to life Festival foods and a chance to connect with neighbors Live music performances Pay at the gate.
