Yoga for Balance and Flexibility
About
Balance and flexibility are important to prevent falls and avoid injuries. Improving balance and flexibility helps us to remain independent and enables us to do the things we love. This yoga class is specifically focused on the poses that improve balance and flexibility. We are providing this free class in honor of National Falls Prevention Awareness Week. The National Council On Aging (NCOA) encourages adults to take action this week to reduce the risk of falling. Come learn how to reduce your risk of falling so that you can thrive. What to bring: Be sure to wear comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat along with a water bottle. Consider bringing a blanket or towel for warmth as the room may feel chilly during final relaxation. You may also bring a seat cushion, or blocks for comfort. Ameya Dighe, a certified instructor through Yoga Bharati, is passionate about making wellness accessible to all. She has developed this class specifically for our community to raise awareness of Falls Prevention Awareness Week promoted by the National Council on Aging. Ameya creates a warm, inclusive environment where participants feel supported and empowered. Her classes emphasize mindful movement and breath awareness to build strength, improve flexibility, ease stress, and foster inner calm. Join Ameya to experience the transformative benefits of yoga and leave feeling refreshed, grounded, and uplifted. All seniors and adults are welcome; no registration is required.
